History

David Fitzpatrick is a professional dog handler of toy and non sporting breeds.  He was born in Wilmington, Delaware and began working for a dog handler in 1970 while he was in high school. 

He has shown and handled the top winning Pekingese in America nearly every year since 1970 and has finished hundreds of Champions for clients around the world.  Of special significance is that he handled dogs that have won Best of Breed over twenty times at The Pekingese Club of America.  For five years he has handled the number one toy dog in the country and many times these dogs have been ranked in the top ten dogs of all breeds.  In 2005 he handled the Pekingese,  Champion Yakee If Only who was the number one dog of all breeds defeating 103,000 dogs, which is the highest number ever defeated in a one year period by a toy dog.   This same year he also broke the longstanding record of Pekingese, Ch Chik T’Sun of Caversham by winning 128 Best In Shows.  Champion Yakee If Only known as “Jeffrey” is the top winning Pekingese and toy dog of all time in America. 

In 2006, David was awarded the “Dogs in Review” magazine award for annual achievement for Best Professional Handler.  David has also handled  Best of Breed and Group winners at The Westminster Kennel Club show.

David is also known as a breeder of Pekingese and is continually striving to maintain good health as well as true Pekingese type.  He has produced and shown many Champions as well as top producing sires and dams.  He looks forward to his future goals to not only continue to breed show winners but also dogs to be enjoyed as delightful companions.  Occasionally dogs are available as well as stud service to approved bitches.
